Mega Man's Ability

So I've really been digging Super Smash Bros Ultimate, it's the best game for playing with friends across the divide and is very hard to tire of (unless you play 7 hours/day... I have no idea what that feels like lol).

My main fighter is Mega Man, a boy turned robot who got his start in 1987 (though games in franchise are still being released today). Mega Man is able to steal a robot master's power through contact, giving him a wide range of abilities.

This concept got me thinking of a blog post idea; what if we could learn any skill through contact? What would be gained or loss from this absorption ability?

I do most of my thinking in 1 of 2 places, the shower and bed. Recently the thought passed by -- "If I could jump ten years into my dream future would it be a good thing? I mean seriously, my DREAM FUTURE, wouldn't that be the best!?" At first thought I can't help but smile, why not: dream house, wife, kids, pets, cars, friends all around and so much money I don't know what to do.

But then I reasoned a little, pushed back against the overpowering optimism. If if was suddenly there, does that mean I skipped out on ten years of life, and all that pain/growth would be lost to me? This scared me, the thought of missing out on all those experiences.

Some people rush through life trying to get from point A to point B without enjoying their surroundings (I've been one of those people). Though I'm not skipping over years of life, there have definitely been opportunities I've missed out on because the drive beat out the enjoyment.

But ten years into the dream future... man... I can't help but be in a good mood thinking about that. Being a visionary definitely has it's pros. But what makes us human? It's our ability to learn from our mistakes and grow, and in growing we mature/strategize. So today, this life we're living, is the real magic.
