Essence of Rain

Three weeks since my last posting, and it's been a busy time of transitions :P

I recently moved back into my old bedroom at my parent's house, where family and food are easily accessible -- very thankful to be back.

After having finished my second collegiate degree I find myself drawn back to my hobbies (writing, reading, anime and some gaming). And on this rainy memorial holiday, I find myself (full of gummy bears) tapping away at a new blog while I plan out how to spend time off work.

Speaking of work! I got a wonderful job at Texas Roadhouse, serving steaks daily with a smile :D It is unbelievable that we get paid to do stuff that I could easily do for free (if bills weren't a thing).

The people at work are top-quality as everyone helps out and contributes, it reminds me of the inerworkings of a clock... all the pieces fit together.

Whoop, my phone just went off and seems like tornadoes are in the area, exciting! Nature has a way of keeping me in awe... this earth is so vast and the fabric of the natural world is ever so delicate and commanding. Makes me think of how insignificant we are.

When I think about my value in terms of size/impact, I can get discouraged.

"How can I make any long-term change or imprint on society?"

"Will anyone 50-years from now even know I existed? Am I just a statistic, a numerical value meant to breathe and then cease?"

It sounds dark, but it's a great mental challenge we should face. What am I doing currently to achieve the goals that I more or less desire?

As a seed must first die in order to give life to it's plant/stem, the same is true for our dreams and goals! The ground (or populace) will try to limit your growth, keeping you at a par-like state... where achievement is average and receives minimal praise. But in fighting through the dirt, our roots are able to buildup leading to a powerful future.

The rain continues to glide down my bedroom window as I type at my desk, wondering when the sun will break through. But as the storm brings destruction to some parts of the soil, some plants are finally given their chance for a greater life above ground! (There's a parallel their but my post-con brain can't connect the lines.)

Oh yeah! I was going to post the convention pictures this morning... whoops... off to Facebook :)
